Don’t expect it to last,
I purchased this item a little over a year ago, which by the way came with a year long warranty. Periodically,I would test the item before leaving home, whenever I had to go out after dark, alone, or when I had to start my workday before daylight, to make sure that it was working properly. Shortly after the warranty expired, the thing just quit working. Initially, I assumed that it might be the batteries, so I went out and bought new ones. No such luck. I don’t know what the life expectancy is on these things, but I certainly expected that it should be longer than a year. Fortunately,I wasn’t in a situation where I might have needed protection when I realized that the darned thing no longer worked. I’m rating it a 2 because it did work for a year, but I would not recommend that anyone waste their money on this product being that it probably won’t last much longer than the warranty.
